Introduction

Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide analog corresponding to the biologically active portion of Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH). It stimulates the pituitary gland to release endogenous growth hormone rather than directly supplying recombinant GH.

Because Sermorelin acts upstream of growth hormone production, its physiological effects are mediated through the natural GH/IGF-1 axis. This distinguishes it from recombinant human growth hormone, which directly increases circulating GH concentrations.
